Free Festival Tickets For Lit Lovers!

20071123_bookfest02v1.jpgIn celebration of International Jewish Book month the JCCGV is hosting their annual Jewish Book Festival. It begins this Saturday, November 24 and I have 10 tickets for Opening Night to give away! The first 5 groups to reply and tell me how many years the festival has been running, in addition what event appears the most intriguing, will win a pair of tickets.

The Opening Night Gala features the brilliant and talented Howard Jacobson. Known for his literary humour, the British author arrives for an exclusive interview with CBC personality and writer, Eleanor Wachtel. This special event will be recorded live onstage for future broadcast on CBC Radio One's Writers and Company.

The festival prides itself on providing diverse events to suite all tastes and ages. Highlights include: Michael Ross' expose, in candid conversation with the beloved Vicki Gabereau, of his riveting account working within the Mossad; best-selling author Nicole Krauss, hosting an intimate salon during the day and an exciting dialogue at night; a fascinating panel on mental health; writing workshops; children's events; a delicious cooking demonstration from one of Canada's leading cookbook authors; a poetry brunch and a spoken word slamfest-because poetry and music go together like peanut butter and jam (or vursht and pickles). The program guide will fill you in on all the juicy details.

The festival runs from November 24-29.
