1. Jordan Bent opens a show called "Many Happy Returns" at the Ayden Gallery in Tinseltown mall (2nd floor) tomorrow night. There will be a reception from 7 - 11 PM with food and performers and lots of awesome people, and if you miss it the art will be up until April 2nd. That's his flyer up there, so you know you're getting good stuff. If you don't like it, you can always go see a movie. Or get some bubble tea! Mmmmm, bubble tea.

2. "Why I'm So Unhappy", a group show with artists from Chile, Colombie and Mexico opens Saturday night at the OR Gallery. I'm still feeling a little snubbed from the last show they did there (which either was completely beyond me, or just sucked), but I like melancholy latin artists, so I will probably be checking this one out. Art is hanging Feb. 25th - March 25th, but watch out for the OR Gallery because they seem to have strange hours and their door is very heavy - it will crush you in a heavy wind. You think I'm joking...

3. The Exposure Gallery(851 Beatty St.) hosts the "Cheap Shots Exhibition" featuring toy cameras. Anything from pinholes to holgas and the wonderful quirky output that transpires from them. The show opens this Friday with a reception at 8 PM, and photos will be up until March.

4. Some gorgeous artworks from joAnne Noble appear at Gallery O from February 24 - March 31. The show is called "Labyrinths" and the show does feature some labyrinthine images, amidst everyday objects, muted tones and red poppies. It looks gorgeous. The Art Center's Gallery O is at 2060 Pine St. Drop by and check out the work...maybe let the curators know that in Canada we spell centre, well, that way.

5. Also a reminder that Douglas Coupland and Chunck Palahniuk will be discussing their writing Feb. 27th, at 7:30 PM (doors at 6 PM) in the Frederic Wood Theatre (at UBC). Tickets are $12 each from the box office: 604-822-2678.
