1. FUSE is happening again tomorrow night, featuring the gravity-defying dance troupe, Aeriosa. If they look familiar, it may be because you've seen them practising around town, but nevertheless, I think this, combined with the "Erickson by Night" flashlight tour of Robson Square, is a good bet that the party will be happening outside at FUSE tomorrow night.
If you do happen to venture inside, you'll see "Raven Travelling: Two Centuries of Haida Art", an excellent exhibit, as well as Arthur Erickson's works, and Space Agency ("Vancouver Architecture and Design Collective Imagine and design new public space").
This is the first anniversary of the FUSE parties, so it should be a good time. From 6 PM - 11 PM at the Vancouver Art Gallery. Admittance is $10 for non-members and free for members.
2. Not too far across town, Pride Week also opens tomorrow night with the Pride in Art exhibit,"Joy Along the Continuum". It's at the Roundhouse Community Centre until August 10th and will feature art by more than 30 queer-identified artists. Over here the party goes from 6 PM - 10 PM and opening night will also have taiko drumming team Jodaiko performing.
I'll be posting more Pride Week stuff around here in a little bit.
3. If you like your art cheap and readily available, then you have to check out the Outsider Art In A Box Art Show happening at the Petri Dish tomorrow night at 7 PM (my! won't you be busy tomorrow night!). Outsider Art in a box is art that comes from modified vending machines! that dispense art! What an awesome concept.
They even have a blog.
BR has posted on this before.
