Burglar breaks foot, sues victim

Well, it's a variation on a theme, at least. Formerly local photo sharing site FLICKR.com is the site of a tiny bit of Vancouver drama as Photographer Kevin Corazza hires Vancouver lawyers to pursue Vancouver's Kris Krug over stolen photos.
The catch, of course, is that Kris was the photographer who shot the stolen pictures, and Kevin was the one who stole them. So now, the offender is attempting to take legal steps against the offended.
Kevin allows the use of many of his photos using the Creative Commons Attribution, Non-commercial license. Basically, you can use his photo as you see fit as long as it's for non-commercial reasons; you just have to give him a credit such as "Shot by Kris Krug" and you need to leave the license intact.
You may not claim that you shot the photo, make t-shirts to sell to people, or use it in your photographic portfolio in an attempt to get work as a photographer. I often use Attribution Licensed Flickr photos in collages, or as an element in a headline photo, but I credit the photographer. Oh, and the photo (well, screenshot) at the top of this is courtesty of Kris Krug, modified by yours truly.
Kevin Corazza isn't suing over the photos themselves, but is having this legal firm request that disparaging remarks that are impuning the character and reputation of their client be removed from Kris' blog.
OMG, check out what I found tonight when I finally had 2 seconds to check my email. Unbelievable. That's *my* trip to London. -- Kris' "offensive" entry
So it's not the theft that is the problem, it's the pointing out of the theft, and in so doing causing google results to slip. It's a shame, because there are a couple hundred local photographers who are now linking to the story using a link like so: Kevin Corazza. This is what you would refer to as a "Google Bomb."
