I wrote a little thing about Andrew Pommier's art show last week. He is a pretty interesting fellow. A quiet, mellow guy. Quite refreshing to talk with seeing as the majority of people I know are the opposite.

Andrew's art is cool. He is a freelance kind of guy, but a busy one. He does illustrations from time to time for a skate mag called Transworld, he regularly does graphics for Fourstar Clothing and RVCA Clothing. He also does graphics for Momentum (skateboard) Wheel Company. And he just did a series of graphics for Girl Skateboards they have them at Antisocial yipiiiii.

Andrew's interview below.

Are you single?
That is a complicated question at the moment.

Describe your personality?
Oh it is so much better to get someone else to answer this type of question. I think the best answer from me would be quiet troublemaker.

Occupation?
Doodler.

What do you plan on doing with yourself in the nextfew years?
Painting, drawing and traveling.

Method of transport?
Bicycle mostly. Car for the long or heavy trips.

Any hobbies?
Is trying to read books a hobby? I'm keen on cooking but we all have to eat so does that qualify as a
hobby.

Where do you go to get loose?
Pretty much anywhere that isn't Vancouver. I find it hard to get loose in this city because I have the guilt about not working on painting or whatever I have going on. The joy of not having a schedule I can work anytime of the day. Not to say I can't get loose here but it is so much easier away from this city.

Whats your poison?
Gin and tonic is pretty deadly.

Craziest life experience?
Our first evening spent on the French controlled island of Corsica we started off taking the ferry to a different town then we had planned on. Getting off the ferry and trying to find a way to the original destination over land with no luck then snagging one of the last hotel rooms in the downtown section that turned out to be a really great small apartment with a kitchen while civil unrest going on just down the street we ate and drank. That was kinda crazy. Tear gas and riot cops, red wine and pasta.

Favorite restaurant?
Vita in Portland, Oregon.

Music?
Right now Tapes n' Tapes and Hot Chip are in heavy rotation on the old iPod. Then there are always the Classics Fugazi, Belle and Sebastian and the Wu-TangClan. I listen to WOXY allot when I'm at home. It's an internet radio station from Cincinnati that plays a lot of the music I like.

Movies?
The other night I watched "Rebbecca" by Alfred Hitchcock and that was excellent. Another good movie
from that era is called "I Know Where I'm Going" Pretty much if it is in the Criterion Collection you are going to get something out of watching it good or bad.

What are some of the coolest things about Vancouver?
I hear the beach is nice. Good veggie sushi.

What are the worst?
Cranky people. The drivers.

What do you do about Vancouver's rainy days?
Paint and draw. Watch movies. Cook delicious vegan/vegetarian meals.

Last words?
Never Smoke.
