A weekly shot of art in Vancouver.
I haven't been posting too much lately because I just got laser eye surgery, but if you think that means I haven't been out and about, checking out art galleries, then let me tell you that I adored the David Wilson show at the Atelier Gallery even though I had to squint at all paintings through my huge granny sunglasses. That show's over though, so I will tell you about the Brave Art exhibit at the Ayden Gallery in Tinseltown instead.
A group show with over 20 international street and grafitti artists, you know that this is going to be some quality artwork. Art from Shepard Fairey to UNKL was included, as well as local talent 3D Leigh and Camilla D'Errico who are doing some live painting in the photo above.

Prints were on sale for super cheap at the opening night party and I very nearly walked away with an armful of them, save for the fact that I recently found out how much framing can cost.
What I liked:
-Shephard Fairey's detailed stencil prints (above)
-Camillia D'Errico's whimsical girl-bots
-3D Leigh's monsters
-this wood sculture that I'm embarrassed to say I don't know who created.
Art will only be up until Jan. 14th, so make it a priority.

Indeed, the show is well worth seeing if you haven't been already.
