Delights of Dragon Fly Dancers

Normally I'm a grinch about this kind of thing: all that wasted electricity!! But the Stanley Park's magical night-train ride is down due to storm damage, and the Van Dusen volunteers have had to recheck and rehang many of their Garden's 1.4 million light bulbs after each snow or wind storm. So I'm going to suspend my inner energy saver and wander my way through the Gingerbread Wood, floating bridge, and Magic Marsh of the Van Dusen Botanical Gardens Festival of Lights. Maybe I will flit by the Dragonfly stilt dancers from Public Dreams, performing among the waterlilies and gigantic bog plants!

The Festival runs Dec 15-31, every night but Christmas, 5:30-9:30 pm. Tickets are just under $10 for an adult, $20 for a familly. The gardens are located at 37th and Oak.

I was at VanDusen on Monday night, and not even a drizzling rain and cold, wet feet could ruin the night. The lights were beautiful!

I am with ya on that conservation thing (hope they use LED lights).. but, I must admit it does look stunning.
We have Butchart Gardens over here in Vic, and it is just as magical.

Enjoy it as it is for the few short weeks it's all bright and shiny.

Could be worse.. at least it isn't fireworks!

Merry/ T
