Party on the Western Front

I have not nearly had my fill of holiday parties this season, or art talks for that matter, so tonight is looking really good. The Vancouver chapter of The Upgrade! is featuring Winnipeg-raised, New York-residing video/performance artist Jillian McDonald in a talk about the horror film genre. Then Jesse Scott and memelab will perform philosophical battles over turntables. Visuals will be present in this curated music throwdown.

Jillian McDonald's work includes Me and Billy Bob, a project on Billy Bob Thornton and misplaced identity/celebrity culture. Compelling and hilarious.
