FUSE on Friday

If you haven't checked out FUSE at the Vancouver Art Gallery yet, this Friday will be prime time to do so. FUSE is the gallery's occasional Friday night option that mixes art, entertainment, and a dj lounge. The Straight dubbed it "a club for people who don't like loud music."
To start off, exhibits by Fred Herzog and Huang Yong Ping have both been drawing accolades from critics and public alike. Throw in Acting the Part: Photography as Theatre and B.C. Binning (not a retrospective of people digging through the garbage) and you've got a pretty full art itinerary to check out.
Now supplant performers from Leaky Heaven Circus (the theatre group that produced the risque Salome last summer) throughout the gallery, doing whatever eclectic theatrics they do.
Then add the apparently "theatrical and meditative, playful and grotesque" dance of Butoh-a-Go-Go.
And finally, toss in a (get this!)... a swing club! Woohoo! Uh, what's that? Oh, sorry, it's just a swing club. Like dance performances, and possibly even a quick lesson.
April 29th is International Dance Day, hence all the ass-shaking going on at the VAG. At any rate, patrons are requested to bring their dancing shoes.

Alright!
I'm so looking forward to this. I always miss it but it's in my day timer now, I'm there.
