May is here and summer is not far behind. We endured a rather wet April but you know what? That's OK because it supplied me with a theme for a photo contest sponsored by Zipcar.

That's right! A photo contest starting right now! With the theme "April showers bring May flowers." So get out there and take your best photos for your chance to win a $100 gift certificate from Lark 8th Avenue, a fantastic clothing store on South Main St.

How to Participate:

1. Break out your camera (or go through your collection) and come up with photos relating to the theme.

2. Each Participant can submit up to three photos. If a participant submits more than three photos only the first three will be considered. Late submissions will not be considered.

3. Upload your submissions to the Beyond Robson Flickr group tagged with "br07_mayflowerscontest" (sans quotes). if you don't already have a Flickr account you will need to create one (don't worry, it's free) and join the Beyond Robson group before you can submit your photos. Only photos which are uploaded, submitted and tagged properly will be considered.

4. Only BC residents are eligible to win. BR staff are precluded from participating because of the whole "conflict of interest" thing.

5. Watch for announcements on the Beyond Robson front page. Winners will be contacted via flickr.

Judging:

The winning photo will be chosen by a panel of highly qualified experts, consisting this time of the following people.

Photo Requirements:

Images should preferably be JPEGs but any format supported by Flickr will work.
Photos should be a minimum of 600px on their longest side.
Images must be tagged: br07_mayflowerscontest
Digital and analog methods, and darkroom techniques are permitted.
