Dance Battle: Compete at People's Court, Round 7

Ever hear of Dance Battles? The first two individuals to respond (via comment) with (1) a brilliant definition of "dance battle" and (2) some historical background on where these first originated, will be the lucky ticket winners to a spectacular dance event Saturday night (oh, Tonight!).

You must have heard of those civil dance-offs that peacefully and eloquently settle street conflict through the pure exposee of dance skill. I'm so impressed with these as they culminate so much technique it is simply an overload of dance class, talent, gymnastics, speed and flexibility so rare in many a dancer I've met. I've got a spectacular event that happens only once every month. Tomorrow night is Round 7 of the 2on2 Dance Battle which has been going on for months now! Month after month you can spectate Vancity's finest dance groups battle each other for a chance to win stone cold cash! But wait a month, this is now.

DETAILS:
Battle is at 10:30 PM
There are 4 Crews each month, 2 people per crew
There are 2 rounds each session. Then Finals.
Music is by varying Djs.
Dancers must perform a 1-2 minute choreographed routine or freestyle, Hip hop, bboys/bigrls, krumpers, poppers/lockers, jazz, salsa and tap-dancers.

Best of all, you can stay for the evening afterwards, as DJ Jin & Juice, Pivot, Alibaba, and Hustle rip it up with the best in hip hop, r&b, crunk, raggaeton and oldschool!
