Welcome to The Living Room, an online sitcom filmed live in Gastown's own Video Monster. Starring Sean & Kevin, the show appears to be part scripted and part improv, and it's not that bad. It's better than most of the video podcasts / video casts / whatever it is that bloggers that start podcasting and then move on to video... Whatever else it might be called, it's a sit com that's better than anything I've seen on TV networks in the past handful of years.

I went to last week's Comedy Cagematch (put on by Instant Theatre) that was also hosted as part of Video Monster's Alternative Comedy Fridays. With both improv and so-called alternative comedy, you just never really know what you're going to get, but last week's show was pretty good; about a 70-75% on my arbitrary improv rating scale.

There are two shows tonight with The Living Room doors @ 7 and shows at 7:30 and 9:00pm. It'll cost you $5, and they have a liquor license so you can have a drink while you check out the alternative comedy stylings.

You might also want to keep next Friday open, as that's the 8-bit comedy battle which features an 8-bit Nintendo competition on the big screen during intermission.
