Strange Times

Some things in life are best left unexamined. Like my favorite books as a kid ... why are so many of the villains 'swarthy'? How come 'good girl' = princess? Ugh!

That's why I'm thankful for Emily Pohl-Weary. Her new young adult mystery, Strange Times At Western High, is fast-paced, fun, and features characters you might actually want twelve year olds in your life to look up to -- if you're OK with graffiti artists, computer hackers, and fiesty teenage zinester-sleuths like Natalie Fuentes.

But don't take my word for it. Check out Natalie's bedroom Or this recent review by James Bow . In any case, I think this book is a great one for younger readers. Beats Nancy Drew anyday.
