I found this via Caterina and, again, I'm like, Whoa!

One of the problems with today's urban environment is the fact that the amount of space for the R&R our shrinks are constantly prescribing us is at a minimum. Some kids in San Francisco decided to take back the pavement and turn some of this public space into some space that could actually be used by the public. In this case, they put some coins in a metre, dropped a sheet of sod between parked cars, added some flora and then just hung out.

Seriously, how cool is that?

Now, I know this blog isn't called Beyond Haight but I was just wondering on-line if anyone in Vancouver has done this. Vancouverites aren't really keen on breaking laws or even massaging laws so they'll bend in their favour but there are some Vancouverites that love antics and don't fear the fuzz.

And if no one has done anything like this before maybe we should get our collective act together and start renting out parking spaces where anyone can just chill out for a bit.
