This Saturday is the UBC Amnesty International Conference, having been bumped from it's originally planned date a month ago, and whittled down to one tidy day instead of two. This is the hot place to meet lots of attractive, single, socially conscious kids. The kind of people who know that love should underline everything, but that spanking holds an equally important role in things.

Here's the run down:
"This year we will examine a wide range of issues centered on the principal theme of the conference: business and human rights. These issues include the effects of business practices on human rights, fairtrade, corporate and social responsibility, and responsible investment. Further, we hope to provide some insight into past tragedies of unethical business practices as well as an overview of Amnesty International's new Share Power campaign."

Well, it sounds solid to me. The schedule runs from about 9-5, and your $10 registration fee gets you breakfast, lunch, snacks, and fair trade coffee. "Would you like some organic locally-raised cream with that, honey?"
