Here's the philosophy in a nutshell.
Coke - Bad.
Clothing from the third world - Bad.
Cars - Bad.
Vegetables from distant continents - Bad.
Any cheap shit you buy but don't need - Bad.

Stuff that's made in your own neighbourhood from people who you know (or at least through the 6 degrees) - Good.
Stuff that's second hand - Good.
Original art work - Good.
Hand made crafts and clothes - Good.
Actual "home made" baked goods - Very very good.

Yup, here's a chance to blow a wad of cash without bemoaning your ecological footprint. This Saturday a bunch of arty kids are selling art and a bunch of other stuff. Show up early for the creamy pickings.

4-8 pm at 560 Beatty St, Buzz #215. Tell them statusq sent you so i can get my 15% cut, ok? That's supposed to be funny.

Consumerism sucks. just take ur money and give it to charity, and dont just do it once a year, or once in a blue moon, give to charity as much as u give to consumerism. every pay check u spend money on cigarettes, on alcohol, on drugs, on clothes, shoes, etc...etc..the list goes on. if u really wanna help the world you would give to charity every 2 weeks. rather then being consumed by petty stuff u dont need, why not be consumed by helping others, and giving every pay check to charity. thats the only way to make a difference
