1f.jpgI have been going to the Marpole Family Place for quite a while now. It is located on the corner of Hudson and 70th in an old Firehall building. The Family Place is an excellent resource for new moms and dads with kids 0-5. It's a welcoming, information and resource center for parents. There are always snacks, coffee and tea, work shops etc. They have tons of toys and activities for children as well as weekly potlucks and field trips. It has been the best thing for my son. I would highly recomend it to anyone expecting or has young kids.

One of the board members of the Marpole Family Place, Stephen Peplow, recently started a program called Bean Sprouts. Stephen along with volunteers teach children about gardening, growing food, composting and just about the whole food cycle. Kids love dirt, digging and planting so its an exelent program. They are expanding their program and developing more plots for the kiddies.

Marpole Place, is located at 1305 West 70th Ave, Open 9:30 am to 3:30 pm Mondays, 9:30 am to 1 pm Tuesdays and Thursdays, and 9:30 am to 12:30 pm Wednesdays and Fridays. There are many family places spread through-out Vancouver so find one in your area. If they do not have a bean sprouts program maybe you can start one up.
