Free Hugs

There's a group of people standing outside of the IGA and Paramount Place (Burrard and Smithe) giving out free hugs. They're good-quality hugs: they have great form, good wrap-around and solid follow-through. I'm not sure how many they have on-hand but I saw more people cashing in on the freebies on my way back home from my errands than one hour ealier.

Seeing as demand has become kind of high there's a good chance they might liquadate their supply soon. I'd suggest that you run on down and get yourself one while they're still fresh and plentiful. I got selfish and got two.

I guess they were inspired by all the free hug campaigns on YouTube.

Wait a sec.

They're not giving away free hugs. They're PANHANDLING for hugs. Jeez, there's only so much I can spare, especially on New Years.

Next thing you know, they bring out their pitbull on a chain leash and hang a cardboard sign around its neck asking for free kisses.

Hmm, interesting. Well, I support the homeless so I might as well support the hugless.
