BC Place Collapses

robson152007-bcplace.jpg.jpgWe knew something bad would happen due to the nasty weather. The roof of BC Place collapsed inwards today just after noon.

Apparently, the strong winds, heavy rain and sleet (Vancouver's version of "snow") tore the fabric roof on BC Place. The roof is held up by air pressure, which is why you've always got to go through the 2 doors to get in. Any hole in the roof will cause the whole thing to fall in, which is exactly what happened.

Check local news - they're all showing "breaking news", with reporters on scene.

My wife just called me. She works right next door and watched it, she said it was the strangest thing.

Yikes!

Surely, it has been the season of storms.... kinda scary! What will it be next year, and the year after that...

Has to be that Global sauna thing! Times have changed... it just isn't how I remember it as a kid.

No no no, it's an evil plan of the people trying to get rid of BC place and put some more condos in its place. They were just waiting for some really bad weather. I imagine ridiculously tall men with large knitting needles that their wifes have been missing forever.
