vanc_skyline.gifA new report released by the research firm Demographica has stated that Vancouver is the 13th least affordable city in the world. Ahead of Vancouver are such cities as Los Angeles, Sydney, San Jose and others. All of the cities in the top (or bottom) 13 are either in Australia, the United States or the United Kingdom, Vancouver is the only Canadian entry. Regina is the most affordable city in Canada, closely followed by Winnipeg, Quebec City, and Saskatoon. Also the survey was done only for 6 countries; Australia, Canada, Ireland, New Zealand, UK and US. So it doesn't take into consideration any Asian countries.

considering that you can get an apartment here for $700 when in montreal you can get the same sized apartment for $300 i'm not that surprised.

A study in 6 countries? So... it's not really "in the world", is it? I mean, those countries have combined probably less than 500 million inhabitants. So Vancouver's 13th least affordable out of 1/13th of the world.

I'm pretty sure Vancouver would be pushed down the list by cities like Tokyo, Singapore, Shanghai, Beijing, Mumbai, New Delhi, Dubai, Rome, Paris...
