Pulp Fiction: Bookworms Storm Mt. Pleasant

Posted by Jark / December 2, 2007

20071201_PulpFictionBooks01.jpgThis is a shorty to keep y'all in the loop. Pulp Fiction Books on 2422 Main St. (near Broadway & Lugz Coffee Lounge, a block up, at 2525 Main St.), is now buying snazzy new books at US cover prices. What does this mean? It means their selection and stock has just taken a new turn towards new releases and publications that often cannot be found in used stock -- a lovely addition to what is still otherwise awesome inventory! If you've never been able to find this Virillio or that Deleuze book you've been seeking for ever, and if you refuse to support any chains, this is great news for you. Care to make requests for that Derrida book you've been unable to find anywhere? I do and...I have.

Who to talk to? Well, ask for Chris, the man, or just talk to any of their staff. They'll give you the snazzy details about their new stock. Just remember, don't be shy about what you're looking for. Pulp Fiction is expanding their fangs into slick new books and without you, what would they buy?

Books They're Always Interested in Seeing Contemporary fiction, Science Fiction, Fantasy, Mysteries, Beat writing, Visual Art and Architecture, classic Kids' books (Richard Scarry; Enid Blyton; Roald Dahl), Science, Travel, Cultural studies and Philosophy, etc. Our customers are well-read, unconventional, and bright, and so are you!

Do not ask what is it, pop on it and make a visit!

Thanks for the shout out! One small typo: we're SELLING new books at US cover price (or less!), not BUYING them at US cover.

Pulp Fiction Bookstore has a fantastic selection of books, but the owner has a very POOR manner of dealing with customers. I found him impatient, condescending, and resistant to providing assistance or answering questions.

Lugz coffee guy, and owner?
You are certainly racking up a bad reputation. Your superficial charm, seemingly sincere demeanor, and articulate words may have fooled women initially, but we're on to your disgusting sexual scheme. You have gotten away with this for far too long, and it is time that you are stopped.
This is a warning to women out there- do not fall for this man's charm. He uses his centrally located business (and lavalife) to pick up women. He has concurrent relationships (although you will think you are the only one, as he will maintain the others are 'friends'). What's more concerning is that he is also in the habit of convincing multiple women, in the same time frame, to have unprotected sex with him. It's only a matter of time before he picks something up...unfortunately it's legal until he does pick up something- go figure....

My shopping days are OVER with this store. In the past year
I've spent well over $200.00 on books. I’ve always been treated with
indifference or as an interruption to the deep and intellectual conversions between the staff.
This is a USED BOOK STORE, if your that f*#@ing bright go get a job in the real world and see how you make out! In these economic times, where money is tight, people will shop were there is respect and their money is honoured with good customer service.

The Lem book in the window has a small drawing of a crow inside it.
