What's So Great About Mount Pleasant?

20071206_soma.jpgNo, I'm serious, I need your help, Main Street. I just made the move crosstown from the comparatively claustrophobic West End to First and Main, so I'm a stranger in a strange land right now. Let's have the goods then, why are we the hippest neighbourhood in VanCity? What is it about our lifestyle choices and world view that sets us apart? I'm looking for a little braggadocio here, neighbours. There's only a couple of things that I already know about, like the Temple and where to get a stiff morning Americano, outside of that I'm a Main St. virgin. Can anybody help me out? Where's the best late night watering hole? Take-out pizza? Video store? Pho? Best hangover eggs? And do we have to call ourselves "Soma"? Give up your secrets Mt. Pleasant!

Hangover eggs is a difficult one. I've been to a number in the area and number of these have shut down or moved...well maybe im not the best person to listen to then. Sebs is delicious though (broadway and st.georges? across from the macs) Especially for those sunday late mornings, they got a super brunch. And its reasonably priced!Take out pizza? What is there. I can think of the one which has the awning, "Expresso!" the people outside always look friendly too. Looks like a good bet.

I like Slickety Jims for a hangover breakfast sensation. As a vegetarian i probably go to The foundation once a week because it is so yummy and cheap and they have the best nachos in town (nevermind the tropic option curry!). Bo Kong has good fake meat veggie stuff too if your having a party, and The Reef farther up has great mojitios and spicy stuff. I like Salt Spring Coffee farther up Main. Oh and there is really good sushi on broadway just across from the kingsgate mall.
I have no idea about take out pizza.. anyone know about pizza?
