Vancouver's Fashion Weak

This weekend is also the start of Vancouver Fashion Week (September 29 - October 2). This is the fifth year running and the nexus of the weekend will be forgotten, old Tinseltown. Hopefully this event will bring more foot traffic to its empty corridors. It is a great location since it is downtown and with the lack patrons there is a tonne of room to put as many catwalks as need be.
The schedule doesn't look that enticing though so who knows how many people it will attract. At $20 a pop, though, it may be a cheap way to enjoy the first weekend of October.
The only thing that make Fashion Week seem like the runt sister of New York's Fashion Week is the fact that they are showcasing First Nations' creations. There will be a handful of not only Canadian First Nations but aboriginal peoples from other countries.
There will also be the Canadian by Design show and an Asia Pacific, jewelry and hair, body painting and makeup shows.
There's a wrap-up party that seems half-decent featuring clothes by Miss Sixty and Energie. The Femme Fatales, Richard O'Sullivan and Eric Malapad will be there and cb shaw will be mixing '80s and electro rock. No mention of where the party is going to be held so keep your ear to the ground for the bass.
