Fashion Show - Mara Gottler
Whenever I get new clothes, I force my boyfriend to suffer through a home-based fashion show. I hold out my shopping bags, yell "Fashion Shooooooooow!" and proceed to model everything I've purchased and make him guess the prices. He almost never guesses right. My clothes are almost always insanely cheap.
Anyway, tonight I'm going to a real fashion show - the Mara Gottler show. It's a part of BC Fashion Week and the collection being shown is for Spring/Summer 2007. It's a classy basics sort of line featuring lots of white, grey and black. Work wear, basically, but it's more stylish and interesting than most of the stuff readily available at the mall. That said, I work from home, so I'm not sure why I'm going.
I guess it's that I wish I could wear clothes like this. In my mind, I sort of want to be the kind of classy lady who dresses up, hikes around the city in heels, and always looks put together. Instead, I'm the sort of ragamuffin girl who wears the same pair of jeans and a university hoodie from my alma mater day in and day out. And even if I wanted to buy some Mara Gottler gear, I have no idea where to find it. I'm pretty sure this isn't one of those times when I'll be able to buy off the runway (not that I ever have).
Anyway, the show's happening at Performance Works Theatre, Granville Island and the after party is at The Plaza of Nations Azure Lounge. Cross your fingers for fun.
