Collect A Bag Full at Discollection

030207_discollection.jpgThis is last minute, I know. But too good to simply ignore! Discollection, the vintage store I've been meaning to visit for ages and cursing myself each day I haven't, is throwing a helluva sale party tomorrow, Saturday March 3rd.

I spoke with the lovely Kim, who runs the store, today on a lunch break and she filled me in on the details of the sale - based on your budget and purchasing addictions, you can fill bags of various sizes with as much as you can stuff in there. And she did her research - I gawked at the bag sizes but Kim assured me of exactly how much can fit based on her very scientific experiments.

Here's the breakdown:

$20 will get you a small bag - Kim tells me she fit a pair of shoes and 5 shirts in there. Kind of like fitting 25 people into a VW bug, I don't know how she did it but she did, and you can too.
$40 buys you a bigger bag, which may fit 1 or 2 pairs of shoes, a dress, a sweater, 5 shirts and a scarf. It's still chilly out there, go buy yourself a scarf or 10 already!
$80 is the next step up, good size bag.
And $160 gets you a massive tote, and if you're smart you'll attend the sale with a friend or two, split the cost and redefine your wardrobe.

Maybe you're thinking, "Ok, I've been in the store and saw a couple things I liked, but I'm not entirely sure I could fill a whole bag." I am here to tell you that this lady has got mounds of clothing stacked in her magical back room, saving up the merch for the big sale.

With plans to expand her stock to include local designers in the near future, Kim figures she'll throw a customer appreciation, one year anniversary blow-out to purge her vintage digs and make room for the new and fabulous. I see she's got Evan Biddell, an old Victoria buddy of mine, on her website and I can only hope he'll be providing some pieces from his line for Kim to sell in the near future. And she's also got ties to Hrissa of Elika Designs, who recently offered her line at the recent Spend on Trend event, which was featured here on Beyond Robson.

You better getcha ass down to Discollection, the sale is one day only, 12-6PM across from Dressew. I think it will be a zoo, so we may bump elbows!

Discollection is at 324 W. Hastings between Homer and Cambie.
