Vote Local: Designer Search & Expose Contest

20060321_thirdfloordesign.jpgFour Vancouver designers have been selected as finalists for the Designer Search and Expose Contest at the Telus World Ski and Snowboard Competition: Togs Designs, Third Floor Designs, Megan Franklin Designs and Twice Shy. The winner is chosen by popular vote, so don't delay - click through to the online voting page to pick your fave. Voting ends on Monday March 26th. The winning designs will be shown on the runway at the Telus Ski & Snowboard Fesitval in Whistler on Friday April 20th. Tickets for the final event can be purchsed in advance from the festival estore for $15.00 a person.

My choice was for Third Floor Designs - I recently acquired a few of the pieces from their Fall 2006 collection, and am a big fan - no matter what I'm wearing, having a pretty pair of undies on always puts me in a good mood. It's like having a fun little secret that's just for you - or that special someone.

Third Floor Design is the brainchild of Brenda Li and Tiffany Ho. They strive to create "pieces that embody today's femininity while continuing to innovate and evolve artistically". Their line of lingerie puishes the boundaries between underwear and outerwear, with bras, panties, camis, wrap tops and more in a variety of luxe fabrics and beautiful colors. From the initial idea to the finished product, the entire operation is based in Vancouver. In addition to their work with Third Floor, Tif and Bren are also the owners of Shop Cocoon, a collaborative business that provides a showroom or front for local designers and labels (including Togs Designs).

Please visit the Contest website for full designer profiles. Which of these four great local artists do you prefer?

Vote Togs Design! The owner is my roommate, and she makes some killer clothes.
