New Music West: Fashion That Moves

Part of this year's New Music West, the Fashion that Moves show at Bar None was a nice treat in addition to the hundreds of bands that are playing around town as part of the festival this year.

The model above is wearing Lifetime Collective, a BC design line that I'm very fond of.

I also loved the Preloved dress this girl is wearing above, and those little pockets are so...handy. There was at least one other mini involved in the Preloved show, keeping with the current trend of legs, legs, and more legs. And I didn't see the asymmetrical lines and stitching that seemed to be inherent in the line back in the day, when Preloved was first exploding. They seem to have grown up a bit, by retaining the character of the line without that cheap vintage look.

I quite liked the format of this show in comparison to the VFW show at the same venue a week prior - here the models scurried over the stage in pairs and landed in a square fenced off area in the middle of the floor, then posed or danced. Definitely not the traditional runway experience, but given the parameters of the venue this allowed more people to see, so good call.

Also showing was Ken Diamonds, JenJoys and Rad Attack Tat.
