Obakki Tea & Tonic

Obakki, newly housed in the beautifully designed space at 44 Water St since December, isn't just serving up locally designed and manufactured garb anymore. To utilize the long counter slicing through the length of the store, Obakki has recently introduced a Tea and Tonic bar, a delicious feature to accompany the finely designed garments lining the opposite wall.

Provided by Elixir, the tonics adhere to the principles of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), incorporating nourishing herbs with natural flavors and fruit concentrates to create a yummy beverage. Imagine that, a drink that's good for you AND tastes good. Served either hot or cold, with flat or bubbly water, Obakki is currently offering six tonics. Each has a different purpose or effect on the body and is distinguished by various flavors. The Depth Recharger, for example, possesses notes of blackberry, boysenberry, pear, grape skin extract and lemon juice, and contains herbs to replenish a body drained by stress, sickness or jet lag.

A versatile range of soothing, hot teas are also available, and all drinks are served in Canada's own Molo glassware (available next door at Inform Interiors).

Whether you're in for a browse, or simply want a delicious beverage to go, keep Obakki in mind during your next thirsty stroll through the cobbled walks of Gastown. Sadly, you can't take the Molo glasses with you!
