Slick Chic Agency Up and Running
Who are these innovative ladies? Tabitha Savoie (Togs Design), Jenny Yen (CiCi/Hylas & Nymph), Fiona Louie (Filou Designs) and Brendalyn Avender (BPA Metalcraft). Slick Chic Agency bridges the gap between the designer and retailer - sales rep Julie Chung provides buyers with convenience and service, while giving the designers quick access to daily feedback and support.
All four designers have been on my radar for a while - whether at Shop Cocoon, Portobello West or Spend on Trend, I'm always drawn to their designs. My mom and I were at Portobello yesterday and I picked up a lovely H&N denim zip-front skirt, a total steal at just $20 (thanks Jenny!) I also have a supersoft fleece Togs dress that is perfect for chilly fall days (or rainy summer ones).
My fellow fashion blogger Robin just met Brendalyn and ended up with a lovely orange metal cuff as a grad present. I also stopped by her booth at Portobello and instantly fell in love with the caribou cutout wrist cuffs - so cute, and such a bright cheery yellow! (I've got a thing for yellow lately.) Fiona's delicate silver designs are so beautiful, I'm thinking of getting my mother one of their necklaces as a birthday present.
I've got an invite to their official showroom launch on August 2nd, where I'll join local fashion media and buyers for a sneak peek of the latest upcoming collections from all the above designers. The showroom is located @ 3695 Main St (at 21st Ave), right in the middle of the best boutique shopping in Vancouver. I'm bringing my camera with me, so I'll be back with pictures and all the dish later this week! At the end of the month, the collective is Vegas-bound to participate in the United Trade Show USA - to show the international fashion community exactly what Vancouver has to offer.

Way to go Jenny! I went to high school with her, my locker right beside hers! And I talked her into giving me one of her original pieces...no, it wasn't a piece of clothing, but a poster she made to promote a high school fashion show. Still have it, and still hanging on my wall. =)
