Keep It 4REAL This Summer.

20080513_4real.jpgFirst of all, let me point out that no, I have not recently adopted the use of Internet Slang nor am I so lazy that I cannot type out 3 letters. I'm going to give the benefit of the doubt here and assume most people are already familiar with 4REAL and their mantra. If this is the case, skip the next two paragraphs. For the rest, 4REAL is a documentary television project turned international success story and this summer they are turning up the good time vibes.

Sol Guy, the face of 4REAL, is a Vancouver based optimist who has dedicated his life to improving and bringing justice to the lives of some of the world's less fortunate. By profiling youth across the globe who dedicate their time to improving the lifestyles of their community, 4REAL hopes to draw attention to the inspiring stories that can come out of desolate times.

20080510_4realjp.jpgAfter receiving much praise and support for his documentary television show, Guy and 4REAL have now expanded into a online global community, a charity foundation and a resource for educational materials. The 30-minute television show, which features Guy and celebrity guests traveling around the earth to connect with young leaders who are making a real difference in their community, airs on MTV, CTV and on the National Geographic International Channel in 166 countries and 35 languages. This season of 4REAL will continue to air until the beginning of June and 50 percent of the shows profits go directly to helping the youth seen in the show.

This summer, 4REAL, in partnership with Mobile Jam Fest are searching for the most inspiring young activist on the planet. With the hopes to spark creativity and inspire a nation, the Community Hero's Film contest will award the winner $500 in cash/tuition, or an Xbox 360 for their unselfish dedication to bettering their community. The contest, which opened on March 31st, will continue to accept applications until the end of this month. The winner of the contest also has the chance to have their video aired during the second season of 4REAL.

If the film contest wasn't enough, 4REAL is embarking upon a Canadian tour in major cities this summer to promote the television show, celebrate their accomplishments and inspire people of all walks of life to get involved. Details of the 4REAL party schedule can be found here. If the chance to connect with other 4Real online members and learn about global issues isn't enough to entice a visit to the party, the fact that proceeds from the party, including admission and revenue from merchandise, go to the the youth profiled in the shows should at least solicit some traffic.
