Vancouver Amnesty International Film Festival

Posted by Jake Tobin Garrett / November 8, 2009

Vancouver Amnesty International Film FestivalNovember 12th marks the start of Vancouver's Amnesty International Film Festival with over 25 films. The festival will run until November 15th, but seems to pack a good punch into those few days with a lot of interesting films to choose from, including one from France called The Yes Men Fix the World where two activists infiltrate big business and pull off pranks. I'm guessing the pranks aren't switching the sugar out for salt in the company coffee room.

Their blog states that the festival "believes in the power of film to tell important stories about one of the most pressing issues of our time - human rights."

Tickets cost $9 a film ($7 for matinees/seniors/students/underemployed)
$35 for a 5-show pass ($25 for seniors/students/underemployed)
$100 for a festival pass ($75 for seniors/students/underemployed).
