Photo Feature 30 January 2007

Buon giorno, Principessa! And guys as well! It’s Tuesday again which means that it’s photo feature day again! Today I looked through the Beyond Robson Flickr Pool for some great images by our great photographer readers. Are you a great photographer? Do you want to be feaatured on the front page of Beyond Robson? Then you need to submit to the group on Flickr!

Tuesday Photo Feature

  1. killing an arab by seanorr (top left)
  2. Untitled by goddess_spiral (bottom left)
  3. goodnight by Jen Selk (top right)
  4. Crossroads by Bhlubarber (bottom right)

seanorr and Jen Selk each bring us amazing sunset images today, along with goddess_spiral’s long shadow image and Bhlubarber’s shot of the street signs at Water and Cordova. Each image is great and involves the sun and sky in some way (yes, that’s right, a loose theme).

As always I’ve sent a note to each of the photographers inviting them to post their thoughts/inspirations/stories behind the photos, but for now please join me in congratulating them all and encouraging them to keep up the good work!

Hi Matt and other BR readers. Thank you so much for featuring my sunset photo!

I took in in the early fall, on a whim. I was walking around down at Kits Beach and I was struck by how pretty everything was. The leaves were falling, the sun was setting, and I just thought I'd try to capture it.

Unfortunately, I don't have the best camera and I'm not sure the picture really does justice to how pretty Kits was that day, but I'm glad you like it all the same.

I don't usually take pictures of sunsets, and I don't usually take pictures of people. I was shooting the reflection of the sunset on the unusual intertidal outflow stream when I looked up and saw this jogger staring at the sun.

The title is a reference to The Cure who are referencing Camus.

Thanks for posting my pic...great selections. I was shooting cyclists whizzing by at Tour de Gastown and stopped for a bit to look up...fans, sky and signage angled nicely I thought. I like this feature you've got here...
