Hi-diddly-ho neighbourinos and welcome to another episode of the semi-weekly photo feature here on Beyond Robson, where we take a moment to shine the shiny spotlight of fame and glory on some of the best and brightest photos and photographers who dwell in our fair city.
That was a pretty awesome run on sentence.
So how do you get featured here on the front page of Beyond Robson? You have to put your photos where I can see them, namely the Beyond Robson Flickr group. Once they’re submitted, you just have to wait until I choose them for the feature. And don’t worry, I have pretty good taste so if your photos are great then you probably won’t have to wait too long.
Anyway, on to today’s photos.

No theme today, just photos I saw and liked.
First up, Ruth and Dave have been spending time at the Granville Island Public Market, and taking cool photos while they’ve been there. Not only do I like the colours in this shot of farm fresh apples, but it reminds me that a) I should shop down there more often and b) spring is almost here.
Next up, hendriko supplies us with a truly amazing shot of a sodden Jericho Park. Brilliant reflections and silhouettes, and the settings sun in the background, truly make this shot stand out from the rest. Well done sir.
Thirdly today brilliant girl brings us what has to be the best shot of the the Biennale sculpture “217.5 ARCS X 13” that I’ve ever seen. Everything about this photo works for me, from the foggy background, the perfectly flat line of the ground, the person standing in the sculpture and their pose; everything.
Lastly today our very own Degan, who has so many photos in the group it’s hard not to feature her, supplies us with a shot of the Dover Mill Machinery building down on 1st avenue. One of my personal favourite buildings in the area because of the mishmash of colours and textures you can find on it.
As per usual I’m sending a love note to each of the photographers today informing them of the shiny spotlight now pointed at them, but in the meantime please join me in applauding their work! Well done people, well done!
