Photo Feature 26 May 2007

Hi Everybody! Guess what time it is! It's Photo Feature Time! Ok, so really it's not. I've just been really wrapped up in the contest and "real life" that I didn't get to do one in the last little while.

What is the photo feature? It's where we bestow one or two of someone's fifteen seconds of fame upon them by highlighting their work on the front page of Beyond Robson. Photos are chosen exclusively from the Beyond Robson Flickr group, so if you want your photo up in lights then submit to the group! Today, and for all of May, the photo feature is sponsored by Zipcar.

And as a consolation prize for my tardiness today we're featuring three photos, seen at your right.

First is '*' by Waxy. This one is selected not only because the girl is cute and has an intriguing expression on her face (which you can see despite her hand/phone being in the way), but the backdrop of reflections and shoes and funky lighting fixtures is awesome.

Second is 'The bus shelter at the edge of the ocean' by Goddess Spiral. This photo has a lot going for it, colour and composition, opposing lines and angles, as well as the slightly surreal quality of a bus stop being right by the water.

Thirdly, and finally, is 'Let's Get Naked!' by Meysam Motazedi, which is a fantastic silhouette for a start but also features exquisite detail in the clouds, water and sand, all brought out by the sunlight. This photo makes me want to hit the beach, and for that it is chosen.

Standard procedure dictates that I now send a note to each of the photographers letting them know that the clock is running on their fifteen seconds. For now though, join me in applauding their fine work.

Also remember that there are only a few days left to submit to the current photo contest, so get out there and take your best Transit photos. Winner gets a prize package which includes a 100$ gift certificate from the Wolf and Hound as well as a surprise!
