Photo Feature 29 June 2007: Big Toys!

Good day to you dear readers, and welcome back to another episode of the photography feature here on Beyond Robson. Today we, as always, are highlighting two of the best and brightest photos photos in the Beyond Robson Flickr group. If you'd like to see your work featured here on the front page all you have to do is submit to the group and wait for it to happen.

Today our theme is "big toys," that is to say big things that look like toys.

On the left today is "crab" by petenator, a brilliantly composed image of the crab statue at the planetarium. The 15 second exposure brings out all the lighting on and around the statue, as well as smoothes out the water blow it, making it almost look like the crab is standing on on a large mirror. Fantastic.

On today's right is "Train Set" by CharlieBrown. Hard to believe this is the real train yard downtown as the tilt-shift miniature effect has been applied expertly. In all seriousness, when I first saw this photo I immediately wanted to call my parents and make sure they still had my train set.

So I hope you've enjoyed today's features. As per standard operating procedure I'll be letting the photographers know their work is up in lights, but for now let's all laud their work verily. Woo!

I wish I could figure out how to do tilt-shift. :(
