Photo Feature 24 July 2007: Fire

Good morning ladies and germs, I just flew in from South Granville and boy are my arms tired. Welcome to your photo feature, the column where we take a moment to single out some of amazing photographs taken by our fellow Vancouverites.

How do you get featured? It's a simple three step process. First, you have to live in Greater Vancouver. Second, you have to take photos in Vancouver and submit them to the Beyond Robson Flickr group (which is free). Last, you have to wait. It's just that easy.

Before we get started today just a quick reminder that Beyond Robson is still looking for new header images. If you have some that you think would work, check out the photo guidelines and instructions for submitting!

Today's photo feature theme is Fire.

On the left today is "canada day fireworks" by Cpt. Obvious. I love the composition here, with the people watching the fireworks. It could stand to be a touch brighter in the foreground, but it's still a solid photo worthy of featuring.

On the right we have "Release" by Bhlubarber, a brilliant shot from the Vancouver Folk Music Festival. The composition here is near perfect, with the expression on the guys face being serene and the fire being in sharp focus.

As per usual I'll be letting the photographers know that they've been featured, but as per usual lets all of us applaud their fine work in the mean time. Woo!
