Photo Feature 21 August 2007: Rock

Good morning dear readers, how are you today? I'm super, except that I totally showed up for work 6 hours early. Fun times. At any rate it's now time for the Tuesday Photo Feature, which I apparently totally have time to write.

What is this photo feature you ask? Simple, we take the best photos from the best photographers in the city who submit to the Beyond Robson Flickr group (it's free!) and we put them up in lights here on the front page of Beyond Robson for all to see.

So if you would like to see your name up in lights, just start submitting to the group!

Today's theme is "rock".

On the left today is "The Paper Cranes" by Victoria Potter, (band link) who magnificently captured the energy of that show.

On the right is "Yer Blues" by Bhlubarber picturing local music superhero Dan Bejar of The New Pornographers and Destroyer. Bejar isn't my favourite musician in the world, but Bhlubarber's photograph of him is freaking iconic. The pose, the composition, the lighting, everything. Bloody brilliant.

So that's today's feature. I'll of course be letting each of the photographers know that their names are up in lights presently, but for now let's all congratulate them on their fine work. Woo!

Thanks for the feature and the critique. I was fortunate to shoot in the geo-madness of the plaza before it's destruction. Wanted to reach out and tip over that mic stand for the shot, but thought that might be a touch rude. Wouldn't want to 'dis Dan.
