Lazy Girl Friday

It's not a question of not having the money, it's an issue of just liking what I cook and pack up in my little Tupperware way more than what's available around the building I work in. However, there are times (i.e. the Monday after the best weekend EVER or the Friday after a miscalculated batch of whatever that doesn't last as long as it should) where I need to buy my lunch.
That lunch can make or break my afternoon and I'm pretty sure it can make or break yours too. So, this fortnightly column* is posted with the hopes that it can assist when you, my fellow downtown core rat racer, need someone else to do the cooking.
This week I'm starting with my fave place. For the longest time if I was going to eat out it would be at Six Sense Cafe. Located on the first floor of Royal Centre (it used to be called The Green Lunch Box when it was in the basement) this place serves up the best wrap in the world.
The Mexican Wrap. No question about it the Mexican wrap at Six Sense Cafe rocks it better than a mariachi band outside your window on a hot summer night. The mix of beans, salsa and vegetables generate the most delicious taste. Actually, everything about is perfect: it's savory while being sweet, juicy (but not so much that when you get to the end you ruin your suit) and even the consistency is perfect. The bulk is mushy but the julienned cabbage and carrots keep it crisp. I do have a suggestion though: ask for just a little bit of rice because they cook it without salt and it's so bland that it seriously cancels out the heavenly (yes, HEAVENLY) taste and your afternoon will be ruined.
They also have salads and sandwiches. The latter I've never tried but the salads are delicious as well. Their raspberry vinaigrette, though sparse, goes a long way. The soup is good too.
They also have a big screen tv. I'm no fan of television but when the World Cup was on three summers ago I'd give the sunshine the shaft and devour my wrap while cheering on the players.
The only other wrap I've had there was the Greek one. Don't get it. It's what I would make up in desperation on a poor and late Monday morning; just a mishmash of garbanzos, feta and whatever else. Huge disappointment.
But the Mexican, hombre, it's the best thing to eat on my lunch. And it's so big you could even eat half and save the rest for later but once you chomp down once I doubt you'll have the will to stop.
Buen provecho!
* Two things: It's not weekly because I don't eat out enough to do such a frequent write-up and I used 'fortnightly' because biweekly means both twice a week and twice a month and I'm all about the clarity, man.
