For those who are mourning the loss of fresh fruits and veggies this winter season, have no fear! You're in luck, because the Winter Farmer's Market was just announced. According to http://www.eatlocal.org the WFM will be held on the first Saturday of every month, from November '06 to April 2007.

March on over to the WISE Hall at 1882 Adanac Street (that's Canada spelled backwards, for all you awesome dyslexics) at the corner of Adanac and Victoria. The market is open from 10 AM to 2 PM and you can find a fresh selection of locally-grown produce and other yummy treats. Make sure you have enough space in your deep-freeze and tons of tupperware, because there's nothing like the feeling of supporting your community growers. Go buy some heirloom tomatoes and squash and make stew sauce that will last you until June, or sweet breads and canned jams for a midnight snack. Or a mid-afternoon snack. Or a I'm-reading-blogs-at-work-while-I-should-be-working snack. It's up to you, really.

Oh- and best of all? Spare your admission change, and spend it on food- this event is free!
