Loo Love
I don't care how good the food is - if a restaurant has a crappy washroom it gets points deducted. Fortunately I've sourced the finest facility in the city, and it just happens to go hand-hand-hand with arguably the best Indian in the city as well: Rangoli on W. 11th.
After a long morning of power-shopping my Mum and I sampled the Vegetable Samosas and Portobello Mushroom and Red Bell Pepper Curry - both delectable and highly recommended. Refreshingly, the accompaniments to the dishes were just as intriguing: the chutneys, the paneer, the salty beet salad, the other patrons sitting at elbow's length...
Rangoli is a tiny place, but thanks to good interior design by Mark Bricault, it seems packed and airy at the same time. All told, it's a feel-good kind of place, perhaps also due to the all-singing, all-dancing Bollywood extravaganza you get to watch for a few minutes if you escape to the loo: the mirrors in the washrooms have built-in mini TV's that play Indian films. The soap, the hand towels, and the Kleenex are all built-in too; there's no clutter. Unmarked and masked behind huge doors at the back of the space, the facilities are minimalist oases of powder blue paint, stainless steel and blonde wood. Gorgeous design, gorgeous food; ten out of ten in my books.

You haven't lived until you've had the Wild Salmon Cakes in Bengali 5 spice curry. Yeah, so a boil in the bag dinner costs $60.....but who cares?! The Saag Paneer will melt in your mouth.
For reals!!
