Tom gave me carte blanche with respect to what photo got posted so of course I went for the one which makes him look like someone who doesn't know what a cross fader is or even that records are still made these days.

If you haven't checked Tom in action you might want to consider the next Lotus Long Weekend (coming up November 10) where he and a bunch more will fill up three rooms with nasty electronic beats.

Vancouver residencies (past and present)?

Overproof Thursdays @ The Lotus (present)
Lotus Long Weekend Series (present)

Both of the above events are put on by my production company, Taal
Productions.

Bust @ The Drink (past)
Industrial Strength @ Atlantis (past)

First introduction to music?

I was introduced to the sound of beats from a very early age, as my father was an accomplished jazz-fusion percussionist. Having an eclectic musical background such as this has allowed me to hear, understand and appreciate music from many different spectrums and arrangements.

Favourite all time party/set in Vancouver (doesn't necessarily have to be yours)?

Graham & Graeme's Full Moon Party @ Mile 36 circa 1999. Mike Stevens rocked it.

Are you happy with the Vancouver scene?

It's small, but there are many dedicated people in the underground who keep it alive. Those who understand the concept behind what really matters, the people and the music, are the ones that keep me motivated.

Why do you reckon the scene is smaller than other cities of Vancouver's size?

Things go through phases. Hip-hop is obviously big here currently, but that's happening everywhere right now. Live music (skinny tie bands, etc.) has really made a comeback in recent years as well. It's fine by me, I love all music, and it ensures the people that our into our sound are truly dedicated to the music, not the flavour of the month.

Would you relocate as a DJ?

Born and raised in Vancouver, I don't see myself leaving anytime soon.

What makes Vancouver the best city EVER?

7 - 10 months of rain a year...

Anything to add?

Rave on! LOL.

Overproof at the Lotus is where I get my mid-week underground house fix.
