Satisfaction at What Price?

There are some tracks out there that pounce out of the record bag and take over Clubland and then fade. Then there are those tracks that are so body-rockin' that they conquer and destroy the dance floor and refuse to be deposed by anything - not even time has a fighting chance.
And that's Satisfaction. It blasted the scene with its grating and arousing bassline and accosted our eyes with the heavy machinery back in 2003 and since then it's turned itself into a one track dynasty. Almost three years later and we're still partying to the signature Benassi beat.
Listening to Hypnotica is like listening to the exact same track nineteen times but the guy has been around for a long time and has more to offer. I saw him spin at The Red Room about a year ago and he was pretty great. He mixed all sorts of stuff (from trance to acid house to tech and then some) and, yes, he did play Satisfaction but it was a cool, new remix and he threw it in with more grace than any other DJ playing a self-produced track ever would. Plus he's cute (both cute as in 'good looking' and 'sweet').
Tonight Benassi's at Club 686 and I have no doubt that he'll play an incredible set. But the $30 ticket price (add at least $10 more if you're buying at the door) for a Tuesday night show is overkill - especially as it was cheaper last year and he played on a Saturday. If you want satisfaction and you don't want to go broke achieving it you might be better off checking out Team Trainwreck at Celebrities' Stacked and leave the Italian to his own devices.
