Friday's going to be a tough one; there are good shows that will be missed without question. I, Braineaterat the Backstage Lounge, Five Alarm Funk at the Commodore, Sinewave and Pete Samples at The Pic, Stumbler's Inn at Pub340, Carolyn Mark at the Railway, and even one of Nardwuar's favourites; Franz Ferdinand at Pacific Coliseum.

It's like all the other promoters bring out the interesting shows during New Music West, and I'm not going to be going to any of the above shows... I've got something that promises better; musical enlightenment from a bunch of crusties...

I'm not going to any of the above shows; I'd like to, but they're not as interesting as the one show at the little bar in the Columbia Hotel (303 Columbia Street, Vancouver) that's offering up a bit of acousti-chaos to celebrate the release of TWO new Crusty Records releases; Mr. Plow's Chairman Plow's Little Red Book and Acrustic Age Vol: 2 featuring the artists playing this event.

It's anarcho-street-acoustic-folk-punk, it's called Acoustichaos, and it features these artists;

Access to the show will cost you only $5.00, and the show is listed with doors at 9:00pm, which seems early, but with a full night of bands, it's a good bet it'll start before 10:00. This isn't something that normally happens at The Columbia; most shows I've seen there claimed 9:00pm starts but the drums wouldn't even be unpacked until 11...

Regardless, I'll be there early because I don't want to miss either Fat Joe Satan or Dan Scum; who each have a... unique approach to acoustic music.
