Rock With The Cocks

If you don't already have tickets for tonight's show, get them. Make excuses to your family about that funeral you can't attend, postpone your wedding, whatever. If you like loud music of any genre, there's nothing that should keep you from this show; just remember to bring ear plugs.

...

If you can make it through the formulaic Pitbull Daycare set, you're in for an excellent show with the Revolting Cocks. Pitbull Daycare reminded me of a slightly less hard edge version of a Christian Rock band; think P.O.D. with less of an edge and less musical skill. I'm not sure if they were a pity-opening-band, or if Al lost a bet somewhere, but my advice remains; come late.

The Revolting Cocks were in true form tonight, with 8-10 people on stage at a time; some creating music and some just screwing around with props, costumes, or duct tape.

Josh Bradford (Stayte) spit into the audience, and then held out his hand, palm out, begging the audience to aim for it. Stay back if you're not into stranger saliva; you never know where they've been, and their aim is horrible. In true revolting fashion, with a handful of loogie, he stuck his hand down his pants.

Phildo Owen started pulling girls from the audience, lifting them over the barrier and depositing them on the stage, making the security guys uncomfortable, but they weren't about to get in his way. He assembled a chorus line of perhaps 20 hand-picked girls to dance along while Al Jourgensen explained how this next song was the biggest hit in strip clubs. "Do You Think I'm Sexy" is so much cooler when there's no Rod Stewart around.

Luc Van Acker was the drunken target of abuse by the band and the road crew throughout. They wrapped him in tape, or tackled him at multiple points through the set. Fully taped, he ended up in the audience twice, and nearly a third time when Al Jourgensen got pissed that a jug of water had been thrown at the electronics on stage.

Ministry were excellent, and remain one of the loudest acts I've ever seen live. I'm glad I had the Aearo earplugs in, standing within ten feet of the stage and the speaker stacks, though my ears still rang for a bit after the show. I can't imagine how deaf everyone else is.

I'd actually go tonight too if I thought I could survive two nights in a row and a packed weekend of shows with Music Waste.

I'm sure I've said it before but I'm going to say it again: I fucking LOVE that No Time for Taxes song. No, noooooooo.
