After NewMusicWest '06, I had a chance to encode and edit a couple more videos from the event, and upload them to YouTube.com for your viewing pleasure.

You just can't get enough of Chicago's experimental noise duo, Voltage. Really, I'm posting it again and if you don't watch it this time, I'll do it again, so give it a go now and save everyone the trouble.

Voltage

The first one after the break is from The Buffalo Club, and it's the first little bit from Ani Kyd's Approach the Throne. Apparently this is their first live gig as a group, so the bit of a rough start to the set isn't too discouraging, as they pulled things together nicely after a couple tunes. They started off in a way that is pretty common in guitar-heavy metal bands; everyone wants to solo, and they want to do it while they whip their hair back and forth.

Shortly after this show, I stopped in at the Marine Club for the first time ever, and arrived just in time to catch the incarnation of Arctic that includes more than just Marcus the solo, guitar playing, synth wizard. An excellent show, and a pleasant surprise to learn that they've only played for an audience three times in this configuration.

I posted some video of the Lyrics Born show last week. Not that you can actually hear what he's saying, but he's giving a shout-out to Vancouver.
