Paper Cranes, This Saturday

Lookin' for a hot show? I've been meaning to check out Victoria's Paper Cranes for a long time now, and lo and behold, they're blessing Vancouver for the second time on their cross-Canada tour, bringing their brand of uppity attitudes back to the left coast. If you haven't heard of these kids yet, trust me, you will.

The Paper Cranes have been climbing the college radio charts across the country playing infectious pop which pays heavy homage to bands like the Clash, the Buzzcocks, the Smiths (of course), and a bunch of other mostly UK bands. But this is one of those bands that cite 103 influences (including Black Mountain and the Unicorns), allowing themselves to basically play whatever the hell they want. And what they want tends to be good. Don't believe me? See for yourself here, and then you'll notice if you're salivating at the thought of catching PC live.
Problem, though. Everywhere i've seen still says the gig location is still TBA. I can only assume that when the location is set, the gig will appear on Live Music Vancouver. Stay tuned, everyone. I"m betting that PC will prove that they can live up to the hype.

I'm pretty sure the show never got past the TBA stage... it's not listed on their myspace anymore.
