Damn it's hot, and it looks like it's gonna stay hot. You might try and cool off listening to cool music in a swanky air-conditioned lounge, except that... only losers would do that! All the uncool kids would rather hit up one of the city's coziest live venues, and pretending that they're wiping sweat off their brow, when really they're wiping tears off of their cheeks before they become Hank Williams Jr cliches. What, crying? Well, that's what happens sometimes when lo-fi sensitive dudes sing out their melancholy hearts and strum occasional minor chords on their weathered acoustic guitars.

This coming Thursday John Dye is playing a gig at The Railway, and will be joined by Sean Wesley Wood, Johnny Wakeham and others, playing in different casual combinations.

Having caught Mr Wood once before, I was fully impressed with his songwriting skills and straight-up delivery. Then crashing a party some weeks later on and being told that I had missed his living room performance was definitely a bummer. Ok, ok, i'll show up earlier this time. You might wanna too.
