Automic Destruction

Remember The Chameleon? It was in the basement of Georgia Hotel. I always thought it was so funny that a four-star hotel would have club (and an awesome one at that). Even funnier after statusq and I gave ourselves a little tour of the top floor in the middle of the night.

The Chameleon was best known for its Sunday night party. I forget the name and I don't care enough to rifle through my flyers but it was THE place to go to on Sundays and one of the more important club nights. Period. It was Vancouver's drum 'n' bass's springboard and everyone was lining up to take the dive.

Now drum 'n' bass isn't so popular. I can't give explanations nor will I have a laugh at its expense but like all dance music things come and go. And, perhaps, like all promoters, DJ Soda could have other plans on the horizon.

Therefore, tonight, Automatic Tuesdays bows out. It's been a seven-year stint and if this type of music ever had an effect on you then perhaps you should go by and pay your respects.
