Tyee Music Picks

This week on The Tyee's Music Picks, Quinn Omori reflects on one of Vancouver's most pioneering no-wave spazz core bands, The Red Light Sting. One of my favourite moments, much to lead singer Greg's chagrin, was when his voice went out and I jumped up on stage and sang "My Penis Looks big All Night Long". Or when they opened up for At The Drive-In and Murder City Devils. Or what about Hallo'ween 2000, with Hot Hot Heat, Radio Berlin, Mercury the Winged Messenger, and Three Inches of Blood!

Since then Andy has continued with Secret Mommy, and Winning with fellow Red Light Sting alum Paul Patko and Jack Duckworth from Radio Berlin and Primes. Zoe has started a project with Dann from End This Week With Knives and Chris Vanderlay from the Buzzing Bees. They are called Baby Control.
