I'm having a difficult time finding the words to describe Andrew Bird. I really like his new album, The Mysterious Production of Eggs on Righteous Babe Records, and I'm excited to see him this Friday at the Media Club. I think he's a bit of a lyrical genius and a musical genius as well. Why? I don't know. So in lieu of adjectives and pitiful attempts at 'It's like X meets Y', I offer you this list of trivia about Mr. Andrew Bird.

- He's from Chicago.
- His latest album got a rating of 8.3 on Pitchfork, like that means anything.
- He likes and uses many instruments, including the glockenspiel.
- I think Glockenspiel is a good name for a dog.
- He played at Lollapalooza this summer, because apparently the festival still exists.
- He has a new album coming out next spring.
- He is known for his whistling skills.
- While a solo artist, he samples and loops his own music to add that multi-layered/textured dimension (which, needless to say, should be pretty neat to watch).
- On his latest album, he rhymes formaldehyde six times.
- He provides excellent music for long bus rides (or any other form of transportation).
- You can listen to him on MySpace (I recommend the song Fake Palindromes).
- If you act fast, you too can see him perform this Friday.
